The inland Links course doesn't get quite the attention as the other courses on the property (the Dye Fore course or the Teeth of the Dog), but it still has plenty to offer. Newly renovated and tougher than ever, the course features a number of lagoons and lakes, with water coming into play on five holes. The course can be quite demanding, especially for the unprepared.
Built in 1975, this golf course in the Dominican Republic has become a staple of the area. The course layout, hole placement, and surprise challenges were created by Pete Dye, the architect of Casa De Campo Resort Links. The golf course has a course rating of 66.5, and it affords guests the opportunity to play a complete 18 hole round.
The course is laid out on a moderately hilly tract of land, and it winds through the resort buildings of Casa De Campo. The fairways are fairly straight, and they vary in width. Bahia and Guinea grass make up the rough, and intimidating sand traps are a prominent feature.
Take some time to look through the following table for a quick summary of this course.
|Holes||Par||Yards||Rating||Slope||Driving Range||Putting Green|
Prices range from $135 to $155 for guests, and $155 to $175 for non-guests. Price includes cart rental and range balls, but does not include the 16% tax. Caddie fees are extra ($25 per caddie per round), but are not mandatory at the Links. Twilight round begins after 2:30pm, and includes a price reduction. Casa De Campo Resort Links accepts all major credit cards.
Golfers should request tee times as far in advance as possible.
If you need a little extra help with putting, plan to arrive a bit before your scheduled tee time to get in some practice. Fortunately, the course does have a putting green for golfers to use to their advantage. First-timers or even seasoned pros that are working on their swing can take advantage of the driving range that is found here.
Casa De Campo Resort Links is in the same area as La Romana, the most close by notable area, so you can explore the city after your visit to the course.
If you like to have a variety of golf options available to you, there are some other courses nearby. Notable courses in the area are Casa De Campo Resort Dye Fore, La Romana Country Club, and Casa De Campo Resort Teeth of the Dog. All of which are within three miles and the closest of the group, Casa De Campo Resort Teeth of the Dog, is only a short hike off from the main course, so it won't be troublesome to plan on stopping by for some rounds on the links.
The activeness of the golf course——bustling and full, or virtually empty—— will depend on how many hotel guests decide to make the trip as well. There are sufficient numbers of lodging options close by, so you can expect to encounter a decent number of other vacationers golfing and taking in the sites alongside you.
Positioned in Casa de Campo, Casa De Campo Resort Links is on the premises of Casa de Campo, and provides a fun chance to golf. However, even if you aren't staying particularly close, you should think about stopping by to experience some of their offerings. It is 4.2 miles east-southeast of La Romana.
