Camperdown Beach

Feel like the only person on the island at this isolated beach at the tip of one of the Bahamas' majestic Out Islands.

Positioned on the northeastern outskirts of Arthurs Town, Camperdown Beach is on the North West coast of Cat Island. You should consider dropping by even if you aren't staying in the immediate vicinity. Camperdown Beach is a distinguishable relaxation spot because it's one of the best spots for escaping the hustle of The Bahamas' urban areas. Most other beaches you'll come across in the Bahamas may have the same pleasing, tropical setting as Camperdown Beach, but tend to be more crowded because they're frequented by tourists looking for a lively scene.

How to Access The Beach
Follow the west-bound route from Arthur's Town Airfield through the wilderness all the way to the opposite coast.

Amenities and Ambiance

The beach is long, thin, and remote. Jungle covers the interior on the northern part of Cat Island, so don't expect anything in the way of facilities, but do expect peace and solitude. The water is as stunning as any other in the Caribbean, but the surf can be rough at times.

Unfortunately, public restrooms aren't available, though you may be able to use the facilities at a nearby business.

Camperdown Beach offers a quiet and peaceful escape, thanks to the fact that the surrounding area is away from most urbanization.
