Attractions on Caye Caulker

An island that measures just four miles long, you may not expect to find much in the way of attractions on Caye Caulker  -- and you would be right.  The pace of life here is slow-going, and once on the island most people spend their days doing little more than relaxing.

Ambergris Caye Southeast

You'll discover a handful of beaches to consider visiting, although they are all located nearby. Click on each beach name to read a detailed article concerning that section of the coast.

Ambergris Caye Southeast: Ambergris Caye stands as the most famous of the Belize's cayes. Located close to a reef, the caye's beaches are relatively small, though the available space offers clean, white sand and palm trees.

A second location for beach-goers to consider is Debbie's Beach. Debbie's Beach is located behind a sandbar, meaning that the waves that do hit the beach are generally small, making it a good beach for casual swimming. Additionally, behind the beach is a large group of trees that completely block the view of the beach from the road, granting beach goers a deal of privacy.

Needless to say, you'll be able to find additional beaches to choose from near the island. Those interested can obtain more information on this page.

Natural Attractions

Hol Chan Marine Reserve

Caye Caulker North Point Sanctuary Forest Reserve is one of the better known local attractions. Declared a nature reserve in 1998, Caye Caulker North Point Sanctuary is a great spot to learn about how animals in one of the marshy areas of Belize live.

Hol Chan Marine Reserve is a second attraction that allows you to enjoy the natural surroundings. Just off the coast of Ambergris Caye is the oldest marine reserve in Belize, the Hol Chan Marine Reserve.

Belize Casinos

People don't generally stay on Caye Caulker for its gambling opportunities, but there is one such place nearby, The Palace Casino. The only spot in San Pedro to offer casino style gambling is the Palace Casino on Pescador Drive and Caribena Street. Friendly service by a staff that is cheering you on all the way makes this one of the most supportive casinos you'll ever encounter.
