Ambergris Caye Southeast

Ambergris Caye Southeast: The Ambergris Caye's beaches are relatively small even at low tide, making the area difficult to recommend for swimming. Still, in 2014 Fodors ranked it as one of the top 15 beaches in the Caribbean.

A second alternative that beach-goers can consider is Debbie's Beach. Debbie's Beach is located behind a sandbar, meaning that the waves that do hit the beach are generally small, making it a good beach for casual swimming. Additionally, behind the beach is a large group of trees that completely block the view of the beach from the road, granting beach goers a deal of privacy.
