When a rare species of Parrot was wiped out in 1932, the people of the Cayman Islands knew they had to do something to preserve the remaining parrots for future generations, but what? It wasn't until 1991 when the National Trust acquired the perfect parcel of land to create this natural attraction: the Brac Parrot Reserve.
The nature trail at the Brac Parrot Reserve is one mile long and takes about 45 minutes to taverse.
In order for the people of the Caymans, and their visitors, to truly benefit from the Bac Parrot Reserve, a nature trail is available through the reserve. The trail loops through a varied terrain including a mango garden on red soil, old farm lands, and a full forest.
