For many vacationers, there is nothing better than spending a night of their Caribbean vacation placing a few innocent bets, pulling a few slow machines, and having a few drinks as they dream of hitting the jackpot.
...casinos have been outlawed.
Unfortunately, in the Cayman Islands visitors will not be able to make this dream a reality. Gambling is prohibited by law in the Cayman Islands, and in conjunction with this law, casinos have been outlawed.
While it is true that there are no casinos on the island, that should not prevent you from planning a trip to the Caymans. There are plenty of other activities to participate in and attractions to see. Snorkeling and diving are two big tourism powerhouses, and there are a number of very well taken care of golf courses on the island at which visitors can tee off. On top of these activities, the list of bars and clubs that dot the landscape of the Cayman Islands is seemingly endless, so your nights will not be uneventful.
If you simply must find a way to get into a casino during your Cayman Islands vacation, you can hop on a plane in George Town and fly for about 45 minutes over to Kingston, Jamaica, where four of the island's 11 casinos are located.
No casinos in the Caymans doesn't mean your dreams of a vacation there should be cut off. Imagine all of the other wonderful activities you can participate in, and the beautiful sandy beaches that are just waiting for you to sink you toes in. These images alone should be enough to keep your interest in a vacation on the islands.
