The calm, clear waters of Pinney's Beach are perfect for just about everything. From swimming to water sports, visitors can enjoy it all. There's plenty of room to sunbathe on the golden sands or take a romantic stroll at the water's edge. Pinney's is considered the best beach on Nevis, but with four miles of sand to spread out on, it never gets too crowded. You can stay for as long as you want, too, as this public beach is open 24 hours.

Located in Saint Thomas Lowland Parish, Pinney's Beach is on the West edge of Nevis. You might want to drop by even if you aren't staying nearby. While Pinney's Beach is not the most secluded beach on St. Kitts, it offers just enough privacy to appeal to couples and families alike.

How to Access The Beach
Located in between Charlestown and Nelson's Spring on the west coast of Nevis, you can get here by by car or by boat. If in the car, take Pinney's Rd north from Charlestown and take your first left to the shore where you'll find Chevy's Calypso Bar & Grill.

Amenities and Ambiance

Pinney's Beach stretches for miles along the Caribbean coast of Nevis. Soft white sands line the beach, as well as swaying palms and coconut trees. The golden sands lead down to the sparkling blue, crystal clear water of the Caribbean. Protected by a reef, the water remains very calm.

There is also a great restaurant right on-site if you're interested; many find it the perfect, convenient solution for lunch. Each destination around the Caribbean has its own unique cuisine, and St. Kitts is no different. One of the most enjoyable places to enjoy the local fare is right on the water. Did you know that many hotels are able to pack picnic lunches for their guests? Or, on your way to the beach you could grab some carry-out from a casual dining spot.

The snack bar located at this spot is perfect for quick lunches and cold drinks, too. If available, you could also order lunch from one of the mobile vendors who typically set up shop here.

Unfortunately, you won't find any public restrooms along this coastline, but you may be able to find facilities at a nearby business. Pinney's Beach is one of the most popular on the island, but with four miles of sand to spread out on, it never gets crowded.

Since Pinney's Beach happens to be found inside an area popular among tourist, you might want consider the time when you plan your visit.

Travelers will find Pinney's Beach on the West coast of Nevis. It is near Montravers Estate, which is one of a number of attractions in the vicinity.

If you want to combine a little culture with your trip to the beach, you might want to consider visiting Sports Museum. This museum is located a mile to the south, so it would be an easy side trip to take after some time in the sun.

Whether or not you encounter a lot of other visitors will be influenced by everything from the time of day to the capacity of nearby hotels. There are not many major hotels nearby, but you may encounter visitors staying at some of the smaller accommodations in the area.


If you're looking for a place to eat after, or even during, your visit to the beach, you'll have many local dishes to choose from at nearby establishments. One of the closest restaurants is Chevy's Calypso Bar & Grill. You'll have the option of walking or taking a cab as it's only a short distance away.

It is located four miles to the north-northeast. If you were hoping to find a tranquil beach scene with few crowds, Oualie Beach may be a good choice. You'll find it a quick car or cab ride away.

You may also want to consider Nisbet Beach, which is located five miles to the northeast.
