Almost all of the beaches on the island of St. Thomas are located within five miles of Charlotte Amalie, which means that even if you don't find a location that works for you right in town, you don't have to travel far to reach another. Magen's Bay is best known for its excellent facilities, but it will be more crowded than if you were to head to Hull Bay just west of Magen's.
There are several beaches to consider visiting, though they are all located just outside of Charlotte Amalie. Snorkeling is available at several locations, if some members of your party enjoy this relaxing pastime. A beach scene where you can go snorkeling is Magens Bay. Magens Bay, located on the island of St. Thomas, is considered one of the best beaches in the area, featuring more than half a mile of protected, white beaches. With high praise comes many visitors, as the beach area is typically crowded, though the clear, calm waters make the location almost irresistible.
Another good choice for snorkelers is Honeymoon Beach. The beach area features immaculate white sand and turquoise waters, perfect for snorkeling or swimming. Palm trees decorate the island, while lush green hills overlook the beach area.
Emerald Beach: The beach is accessible by taxi, bus, car, or foot, thanks to its close proximity to the airport. Airport road connects directly to the beach, as well as to a small car park outside of the beach area.
