Chichen Viejo (Old Chichen)

Characterized by numerous representations of the Maya god Chaac, Chichen Viejo is a ruins site near the much more popular Chichen Itza. It is believed to have been built in 400 A.D., and at this time archeologists are still excavating the site, so it is closed to the public.

There are a decent number of eateries to pick from in the neighborhood immediately near this historical site. La Casa Del Mayab is an easy to reach buffet and also the closest restaurant. La Casa Del Mayab is around a mile and a half away from this landmark, so stop in and dig in! Also near Chichen Viejo (Old Chichen) you'll come across options such as Xunan and Las Mestizas so with any luck, at least one of these close by restaurants will satiate the whole entire party.
