Chichen Viejo (Old Chichen)

Characterized by numerous representations of the Maya god Chaac, Chichen Viejo is a ruins site near the much more popular Chichen Itza. It is believed to have been built in 400 A.D., and at this time archeologists are still excavating the site, so it is closed to the public.
