The House of the Deer was once the scientific center of the Chichen Itza. It was here that Mayas carried out research and experiments. The name, however, is a mystery. No where in the building is any significance of a deer mentioned; a mystery yet discovered by the archaeologist.
The House of the Deer is today left half standing, with a portion of it completely collapsed. However, from the front it is hard to tell that there is much damage to the structure at all as you look up at it on top its tall courtyard-pedestal.
House Of The Deer is located in Chichen Itza, which means those visiting this region of Cancun and the Mexican Caribbean will have easy access to this historic attraction during their time there. The area around this site remains relatively quiet, particularly since there are so few places to stay close.
