A landmark that often intrigues visitors is Chichen Itza. It is found within the heart of Chichen Itza. One of the Seven Wonders of the World as of 2007, Chichen Itza is perhaps the most popular and well-known Maya ruin in the Mexican Caribbean. The fact that it is so well known today is not surprising, considering in its heyday it was one of the most important religious and political centers of the culture.

Another landmark worth visiting is El Caracol. It can be found at Chichen Itza and located in Chichen Itza. The park is open from 8:00 a.m. until 5:30 p.m.

Chichen Itza Ball Court: This playing field of an old Maya game still stands, and used to be a very important part of Maya ceremonial life. After the games, one of the teams was sacrificed, however, researchers are still not sure if it was the losers or the winners who were killed.
