If you are looking to do some sight-seeing, visit Chichen Itza. It is located in the heart of Chichen Itza. Located on the Chichen Itza compound are a collection of 17 ruins waiting for visitors to explore, many of which have been restored to their former glory using the same materials as the Mayas originally did. Important structures here include El Castillo, or the Temple of Kukulcan, a massive temple with stairs running up both sides and watched over by two serpent heads.

If you are looking to do more sight-seeing, visit El Caracol. It can be found at Chichen Itza and located within Chichen Itza. This early observatory has windows that line up with different constellations at different parts of the year, allowing the Mayas to keep track of the seasons. In addition to the stars, the Mayas also tracked the sun, allowing them to predict the seasons and best harvesting time.

Chichen Itza Ball Court: This playing field of an old Maya game still stands, and used to be a very important part of Maya ceremonial life. After the games, one of the teams was sacrificed, however, researchers are still not sure if it was the losers or the winners who were killed.
