Filled with hieroglyphs stretching across the walls, the Red House contains historical records that mention to rulers as far back at 869 AD, which is the earliest date found so far in the ruin complex.
Luckily, the Red House is one of the best preserved buildings on site, and visitors will be able to clearly see the hieroglyphs inside. Just know that you cannot not climb many of the ruins.
You may enjoy staying in Chichen Itza if you plan on visiting Red House, as visitors to this part of Cancun and the Mexican Caribbean will be pleased to have convenient access to the historical site during their time there. You can expect little traffic surrounding this historic site, especially as there are very few hotels close.

Red House has the benefit of being in a good location for vacationers who are hoping to find several nearby restaurants. The closest place to eat is, which is an easy to reach buffet. The eatery is a small distance off, but far-removed enough that you may decide to aim for taking advantage of some means of transport to transport your party. and offer additional food and drink options near Red House where travelers will have the chance to try a new dish and experience the Cancun and the Mexican Caribbean culture.
Admission into the park is available everyday between 9:00am and 5:00pm. Additionally, there is a light-show onsite at 7:00pm in Autumn and Winter, and at 8:00pm during the rest of the year.
Admission into the Chichen Itza site will cost about $10. For guests that do not understand Spanish, you can purchase an English self guided audio-tour for another $2.
