Filled with hieroglyphs stretching across the walls, the Red House contains historical records that mention to rulers as far back at 869 AD, which is the earliest date found so far in the ruin complex.
Luckily, the Red House is one of the best preserved buildings on site, and visitors will be able to clearly see the hieroglyphs inside. Just know that you cannot not climb many of the ruins.
Red House is located in Chichen Itza, meaning those visiting this part of Cancun and the Mexican Caribbean will be pleased to have easy access to this historic attraction during their time there. Red House will be a great choice for guests wanting to pick from a fair number of restaurants and bars in the area. The most convenient eatery is, which is an easy to come by buffet. The restaurant is just around one and a quarter miles from this landmark, so check it out and enjoy a meal. Also close-by, you and your companions will find restaurants such as and so you don't need to be picky, since you'll find a few different refreshment choices.
Admission into the park is available everyday between 9:00am and 5:00pm. Additionally, there is a light-show onsite at 7:00pm in Autumn and Winter, and at 8:00pm during the rest of the year.
Admission into the Chichen Itza site will cost about $10. For guests that do not understand Spanish, you can purchase an English self guided audio-tour for another $2.
