Condado Attractions

As part of the San Juan metropolitan area, Condado is often chosen as a home base for tourists seeking luxury accommodations after long days sightseeing in Old San Juan.  But this small town holds its own in the attractions department with a nice offering of cultural museums and landmarks as well as beaches and casinos.  Green space is limited here, but it doesn't take long to find natural attractions in the surrounding area. 


Condado Beach

Condado Beach: Backed by the high rise buildings of San Juan, Condado Beach. Because this is a public beach it is usually pretty crowded, but be warned: the undertow here can be strong a times, though it makes for a great surfing environment.

Another option for beach-goers to consider is Ocean Park. People-watching is the most prominent activiity at Ocean Park, which is filled mostly with gay and straight single adults. Water sports and facilities are available at the beachfront resorts for a fee.

Parque Beach: Parque Beach is lined with well manicured tropical palms, and features fine tan colored sand and deep blue waters.

Landmark Attractions

Museo de arte de Puerto Rico

One popular destination is Museo de Arte Contemporaneo. It is found in southern Condado. The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

Another interesting landmark worth visiting is Museum Of Art Of Puerto Rico. It is located within Condado. On Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday, the museum is open from 10:00am until 5:00pm. On Wednesday and Thursday, is is open from 10:00am until 8:00pm.

Museo de arte de Puerto Rico: Spanning 130,000 square feet, the Museo de Arte de Puerto Rico has worked towards providing the Puerto Rican public with access to contemporary artwork since 2000. There is a permanent collection of Puerto Rican and Latin art from the 16th century to present, plus a number of educational programs that are available to educate the public and raise awareness about the world of visual arts.
