1 | Museo Felisa Rincaan
Museo Felisa Rincaan de Gautier celebrates the life of none other than Felisa Rincaan de Gautier, a public figure in San Juan who, among other things, serves as mayor of the town. She worked throughout her whole life to improve Puerto Rico, and now she is honored with a museum that discusses her life and all that she worked to achieve.
This museum is at 51 Caleta de San Juan, and is two and a half miles (four kilometers) west of Condado Plaza Hilton.
2 | La Fortaleza
La Fortaleza, or the Governor's Mansion, is the oldest continuously inhabited building in the entire New World. There are gardens here that visitors can explore and admire.
Situated on Fortaleza Street, this historical site is a couple hundred yards (a few hundred meters) from Museo Felisa Rincaan de Gautier.

4 | Raices Fountain

9 | Museo de Nuestra Raiz Africana
Located in Casa del Contrefueras, Museo de Nustra Raiz Afrcana is a sociological look at how slavery played a role in the history of Puerto Rico. Visitors often comment on the pit they feel in their stomach as they tour the museum and learn of the horrendous time in history, but would recommend it as an honest and enlightening look at the subject of slavery.
Travel north for a quarter mile (a half kilometer) from Paseo La Princesa to get to this museum, which is located on Calle San Sebastián.
10 | San Juan National Historic Site
The San Juan National Historic Site is the overarching Historic Zone that includes much of Old San Juan. Within the zone are the two main forts, Castillo San Cristobal and San Felipe del Morro, as well as several other historic sites.
This historical site is near the heart of downtown Old San Juan, less than a hundred yards (less than a hundred meters) from Museo de Nuestra Raiz Africana.

16 | Museo de Artes Populares
The Museo de Artes Populares features an assortment of art pieces made by both famous and local artist ranging in style and medium. Visitors will always be able to see some wonderful examples of contemporary Caribbean Art, as well as an assortment of ever rotating exhibits.
This art museum can be found within walking distance from Pablo Casals Museum, and is near the center of downtown Old San Juan.
17 | Museum Of Our African Heritage
African slavery was an issue in Puerto Rico just as it was in the United States, much of Europe, and the Caribbean. Learn about how slavery affected Puerto Rico at the Museum of Our African Heritage.
This museum can be found a short distance from Museo de Artes Populares, and is at 319 Calle Fortaleza.
18 | Cathedral of San Juan Bautista
The Cathedral is one of the oldest in the Americas, with construction started in 1521, less than thirty years after Christopher Columbus' first voyage. Since its final completion in 1529, mass has been held here and continues to be today.

This old and large house was built in the early 1700's and is rich in the traditional Spanish Architecture. Today it is the location of a small museum features some history of pharmacies on the island, and an art gallery.

22 | Casa Ramon Power
Ramon Power, born in 1775 in Puerto Rico, was once of the first men to refer to himself as Puerto Rican. He would go on in life to fight for Puerto Rican representation in the Spanish Parliament.
This historical site can be found at 155 Tetuán Street, and is about a hundred yards (a few hundred meters) from Plaza De Armas.
23 | Arsenal De Marina
Once a foothold of power for the naval might of the Spanish Empire, the Spanish Naval Force in Puerto Rico once helped Spain control the Caribbean. The building itself is part of that history, as it was the final stronghold of Spain against the United States during the Spanish-American War.
Go a few hundred yards (a quarter kilometer) from Casa Ramon Power y Giralt to reach this art museum, which is located in downtown Old San Juan.

Established in 1970, the Butterfly People is one of the more unique art concepts in Puerto Rico. Located in Old San Juan, the Butterfly People invites guests in to view a collection of artwork prepared using the remains of butterflies.
