The sweeping shores of Coral Bay range from soft, fine sand to slightly rocky and almost black. While the waters remain calm and clear thanks to the absence of rivers feeding murky waters into the area, beachgoers will experience a hillier terrain behind them, rather than the flat lands lined with coconut palms they may have come to expect in the Caribbean.
You'll discover several beaches to choose from, though all of them are located nearby. Snorkeling is an option at several locations, if some members of your party are so inclined. To get additional information concerning any of these beaches you can click on the names of the ones you want to learn about.
Pelican Beach: Just a few yards off shore is a long reef great for snorkeling, though keep the undertow in mind. On shore, there is 1,200 feet of white sand with palm trees, accessible facilities with a restroom, a restaurant, and a bar.
Another option to consider is Leinster Bay Beach. Access to the beach is provided off of a local road, with a nearby car park. Drivers should take North Shore Road (Route 20), turning toward the Fredriksdal Plantation Ruins.
Lameshur Bay: The isolated coastline of Lameshur Bay can only be reached by way of a bumpy dirt road. This rugged south coast beach boasts gorgeous sands, and its clear blue waters are excellent for snorkeling.
