The sweeping shores of Coral Bay range from soft, fine sand to slightly rocky and almost black. While the waters remain calm and clear thanks to the absence of rivers feeding murky waters into the area, beachgoers will experience a hillier terrain behind them, rather than the flat lands lined with coconut palms they may have come to expect in the Caribbean.
You will find an abundance of beaches to consider visiting, though they are all found in neighboring areas. Snorkeling is available at some locations, for visitors who enjoy the underwater scene. Click on the name of the beach to get additional information concerning that part of the coast.
Pelican Beach: Just a few yards off shore is a long reef great for snorkeling, though keep the undertow in mind. On shore, there is 1,200 feet of white sand with palm trees, accessible facilities with a restroom, a restaurant, and a bar.
A second place for beach-goers to consider is Leinster Bay Beach. Leinster Bay Beach has a rocky shoreline, composed of sand and coral rubble. The water is shallow and Watermelon Cay lies a short ways northeast of the shore.
Lameshur Bay: A white, sandy beach tucked away between tropical foliage, Lameshur Bay is one you won't want to overlook. Directly off of one of the local roads and part of the Virgin Islands National Park, guests are treated to a quiet beach experience, preserved and natural.
