Albertos Beach

Approximately 10 miles outside of Downtown Cozumel is Alberto's Beach. The beach opened to the public in 2004 and is popular amongst sun bathers and visitors of the popular Alberto's Beach Bar.

Located in the southern part of Southern Cozumel, in the same general area as downtown San Miguel, Albertos Beach is on the East coast of Cozumel. You might want regardless of whether you are staying in the immediate vicinity. Albertos Beach is a distinguishable relaxation spot because it's perfect for escaping the typical tourist haunts. Most other beaches in Cancun and the Mexican Caribbean may have the same warm sand and calming breezes as Albertos Beach, but are usually more cramped since they're found in the most popular parts of town.

When compared to other beaches on the island, Alberto's Beach is often described as rustic, perhaps because there are fewer facilities than many other locales. The white sand slopes gently into the aquamarine waters which have smooth grounding free of too many rocks, which makes it excellent for swimming.

Keep in mind that restrooms won't be found on-site, so those of you traveling with small children may want to consider another spot.

If you tend to like sunny days which offer those who visit a serene enclave, then a good choice for you is Albertos Beach; it's back in a less urban section of Cozumel.

This spot is on the East coast of Cozumel. It is near some interesting sites like Arte de Origen, which is found within taxi range to the north, and it is among the popular spots in the area.

Cities and Towns

It may take some traveling to get there, but Playa del Carmen is the closest city. though you may find some smaller towns near the beach.


The number of other vacationers sharing this coastline can vary widely, it depends on many factors: the time of sundown, happy hour, even how full the nearby hotels are. There aren't many large hotels nearby, but you may meet visitors staying at smaller lodgings in the area.

Of course, there are more fantastic beaches besides Albertos Beach on Cozumel.

You might also enjoy Playa Uvas, which also offers sufficient opportunities to relax. On the other hand, Playa Bush offers a few more possibilities for excitement, and is closer to nearby attractions.

You might also want to visit Playa San Fransico, another favorite sun-spot in Cancun and the Mexican Caribbean. Playa San Fransico is a gorgeous well-established beach, with many great coastal features vacationers are sure to fall in love with this sandy piece of paradise.

While Cancun and the Mexican Caribbean has many alluring attractions, Albertos Beach is both a beautiful natural attraction, and a fun hangout spot.
