Approximately 10 miles outside of Downtown Cozumel is Alberto's Beach. The beach opened to the public in 2004 and is popular amongst sun bathers and visitors of the popular Alberto's Beach Bar.
Set on the southern outskirts of Southern Cozumel, fairly close to downtown San Miguel, Albertos Beach is on the East coast of Cozumel. You might want to drop by even if you aren't staying in the immediate vicinity. Albertos Beach stands out because it's one of the best spots for getting away from vacation stresses, like overly crowded restaurants and attractions. Most other beaches in Cancun and the Mexican Caribbean may have the same warm sand and calming breezes as Albertos Beach, but are usually more crowded because they're frequented by tourists looking for a lively scene.
A long entrance road through the jungle opens up right onto the sand.
When compared to other beaches on the island, Alberto's Beach is often described as rustic, perhaps because there are fewer facilities than many other locales. The white sand slopes gently into the aquamarine waters which have smooth grounding free of too many rocks, which makes it excellent for swimming.
Please note that public restrooms are not available, so if you're visiting with small children you might want to consider a different location.
Albertos Beach brings guests a calm and relaxing environment, in part because the surrounding area is free of city-life and traffic.
Visitors will find this beach on the East coast of Cozumel; it's located near attractions like, which is one of the closest attractions to visit.

If you like the ambiance at this beach, you might also like Playa Uvas, a beach which also offers ample quietude and peace. However, if that's not exactly what you're looking for, Playa Bush could provide a few more possibilities for excitement, and is closer to other tourist hot-spots.
You may also enjoy Playa San Fransico, another great beach choice in Cancun and the Mexican Caribbean. Playa San Fransico is a gorgeous well-established beach, with many great coastal features vacationers are sure to fall in love with this sandy piece of paradise.
Of course, there is much more to do besides lounge on the sand in Cancun and the Mexican Caribbean, but Albertos Beach is both a relaxing, sunny hangout and a stunning natural feature.
