The beaches along the east coast of Cozumel are best reserved for snorkelers, divers, and surfers, as the waters are just a bit too rough or rocky for a typical relaxing swim. If you're looking for those soft, powdery sands and calm waters that the Caribbean is known for, stick to the west shore.
You'll discover a large selection of beaches to visit on the island. Regardless of whether you prefer being around other people, or you'd rather have more of the beach to yourself, you can find a beach that fits your preferences. Just click on the beach names to get additional information concerning that particular stretch of sand.
Paradise Beach: There is no denying it, Paradise Beach is a stunner. The water that washes ashore is a bright almost neon blue, but very quickly becomes topaz before settling into the deep-water navy blue.
A second option for beach-goers to consider is Playa Uvas. The waters of Playa Uvas begin as a clear topaz, and grow into aquamarine then navy colored as the water grows deeper. The sands are blindingly white and lined with beach chairs.
Sunset Beach: Sunset Beach is located off Rafael E. Melgar.
