Dzul-Ha, pronounced Zool-Ha, is known as one of the best beaches on Cozumel for snorkeling. This is really saying something for an island that attracts droves of tourists specifically to swim the reefs. The reason it is so popular amongst snorkelers is because the reef is close enough to access from shore without the necessity of a boat or tour group. On shore, lockers are available for a small fee, and there is even a swimming pool for those who don't enjoy swimming in the sea but still want a view. If you do go snorkeling or swimming, make sure to wear swim shoes and avoid stepping on any rocks or urchins.

Positioned on the island of Cozumel, Dzul Ha is on the West coast of the island, You might want to drop by even if you are not staying very close. Peace and quiet is what you'll find at the majority of Cancun and the Mexican Caribbean's beaches, but the ambiance at Dzul Ha is one of both seclusion and activity; this means you can relax without having to travel too far from the buzz of the city.

How to Access The Beach
To drive to Dzul-Ha, take the main road south. You will see a sign that says "Parque Chankanaab 3.3km," and past El Presidente you will take a left turn. Follow the road to the beach. If you take a cab, asked to be dropped off at Club del Sol rather than Dzul Ha in order to save money on cab fare.

Amenities and Ambiance

The shores of Dzul Ha are only minimally sandy. Rather, the beach is covered in coral rock and sea urchins once you hit water.

Unfortunately, public restrooms aren't available, though you may be able to use the facilities at a nearby business.
