There are plenty of great adventures and activities to enjoy while visiting Playa Chen Rio beach. Vacationers will find a number of places on the sandy shore that are perfect for outdoor pursuits such as camping, swimming, and snorkeling. Because the bay is protected by giant rocks, the beach's calm waters are perfect for aquatic activities.

Located near the center of the island of Cozumel, Playa Chen Rio is on the South coast of the island, You should think about stopping by whether or not you're staying very close. It's often said that Playa Chen Rio is one of the best spots for escaping over-crowded hangouts in the town proper. Most other beaches in Cancun and the Mexican Caribbean offer views of the sea that are just as pretty, but tend to be busier since they're near some of the most popular hotels.

The Playa Chen Rio beach overlooks a small, picturesque bay and boasts amazingly clear waters and gentle surf. This windward coastline is easily recognized by its large rock formations, which offer an ideal location for enjoying gorgeous views of the ocean.

There is also a snack bar here. You may also have the option to buy some food from one of the mobile vendors who are generally found here.

Please note that public restrooms are not available, which is something to consider if you plan to spend a full day in the sun. The atmosphere of the Playa Chen Rio is peaceful and secluded, so travelers who enjoy quiet walks on the beach without all the hustle and bustle of more crowded shores will love this sandy stretch of oceanfront property.

If you find that you prefer sunny days which offer visitors a calm enclave, then you will want to try Playa Chen Rio; it is tucked away in a less urban sector of Cozumel.

This beach is positioned on the South coast of Cozumel; it will be near other attractions like Arte de Origen, which is one of the closest attractions.

Tourists at Playa Chen Rio who are hoping to find further attractions will want to think about checking out San Miguel, since it's not far away and is an especially active area of Cancun and the Mexican Caribbean. From Playa Chen Rio, San Miguel is about eight and a half miles (14 kilometers) away.

The crowdedness of the shoreline can vary widely, depending on when you visit, and how many people have booked nearby hotels. There are not many large hotels nearby, but it's sometimes enjoyed by visitors staying at the few small lodgings in the area.

Other Beaches

Needless to say, Playa Chen Rio isn't the only beach worth visitng on Cozumel.

You might also enjoy Playa Uvas, found only a taxi trip away from the shore. On the other hand, Playa Punta Morena offers a little more opportunity for excitement, and isn't far from other tourist hot-spots. It's located less than a mile to the northeast.

You may also enjoy Dzul Ha, another favorite sun-spot in Cancun and the Mexican Caribbean.

Of course, Cancun and the Mexican Caribbean has hundreds of natural wonders to discover, but taking a swim at Playa Chen Rio is certainly a fun way to enjoy the area's natural attractions.
