On Cozumel's leeward coast is Playa Palancar. The beach area is located just past a restaurant that specializes in fish dishes. The beach is a great locale for visitors who want to participate in watersports, but is not especially crowded so a quiet, calm day at the beach is a real possibility.
Located on the southwestern coast of the island of Cozumel, You might want whether or not you are staying particularly close by. Playa Palencar stands out from other beaches because it's perfect for escaping over-crowded hangouts in the town proper. Travelers in search of the perfect beach will have lots of choices besides Playa Palencar.
If you like the ambiance at this beach, you might also like Playa Uvas, found within the range of a cab. Still, if you're searching for something a little more active, you might find that Playa Mia is just right. It's found two miles to the north.
