Caneel Bay Resort

Caneel Bay Resort

Following Hurricanes Irma and Maria in September 2017, both the Resort and St. John were devastated, rendering it impossible to reopen Caneel Bay. Working with many constituencies, they are slowly making progress towards getting it back on it's feet. Once rebuilding is complete, Caneel Bay will run as a luxury resort, though a re-open date in not set as of now.

Founded by Laurance Rockefeller and created within the Virgin Islands National Park, Caneel Bay embraces the natural simplicity of its unspoiled setting. Featuring seven pristine white sand beaches on a secluded 170-acre peninsula, the resort's 166 rooms gaze upon the lush tropical gardens and the turquoise-blue Caribbean Sea. Children are entertained at Turtle Town while adults are out exploring the water by way of the complimentary Sunfish sailboats, kayaks, paddle boards and snorkel equipment. In 2013, Conde Nast Traveler ranked this spot as one of the best in the Caribbean and US News concurred in 2014 when they awarded it the same accolade. Disconnect and relax at this perfect island getaway.

Guests looking for some enjoyable dining experiences will particularly enjoy the location of Caneel Bay. There is a variety of styles here, and those who find themselves in the mood for American cuisine will not leave disappointed.
