Nature Preserves and Hiking

Virgin Islands National Park

Do you want to spend part of your vacation outside? You can experience several different hiking trails and some nature preserves nearby.

Virgin Islands National Park is a nature preserve found 3.2 mi. East of central Cruz Bay. Virgin Islands National Park is a huge endeavor, encompassing more than 7,000 acres on the island of St. John. The diverse landscape of the park lends itself to everything from trail hiking to swimming, and even camping.

Those hoping to find a another great natural attraction will enjoy exploring places like Virgin Islands Coral Reef National Monument. Virgin Islands Coral Reef National Monument is located off the coast of St. John in the U.S. Virgin Islands, and is popular amongst snorkelers.

Waterfalls

Although most visitors to the area are attracted by the beautiful coastline, those aren't the only way to experience the area's natural beauty. One such example is Petroglyph Pool Waterfall. It is situated 3.1 mi. East of central Cruz Bay. <p>Deep in the Virgin Islands National Park among tall trees, crumpling ruins, and centuries-old carvings you will be able to spot the Petroglyph Pool Waterfall. This tall fall cascades down to fill a pool that is famous for something more than the waterfall alone.</p>

Parks

Guests can also spend some time in the local park in Cruz Bay.

Franklin Powell Park is located in downtown Cruz Bay. Panoramic views of the ocean make this a popular park to visit amongst locals as well as tourists. Annual festivals are often held here, and at those times the park is filled with food and craft vendors, dancers, and live music.
