Salomon Bay

Named for the Salomon Brothers who once produced cotton here, Salomon Bay is now a popular spot for snorkeling.

If you stand on the beach at Salomon Bay, you'll be privy to a beautiful view of Pillsbury Sound, the islands of St. Thomas and Jost Van Dyke, and several cays.

Salomon Bay is known for having some of the finest snorkeling along the north shore, perhaps because of a reef that separates Salomon Bay from Honeymoon Bay. The reef is located in a calm part of the bay, with shallow waters that make it easy for snorkelers to get an up-close look at the coral.

Positioned on the outskirts of Cruz Bay, a few hundred yards north of downtown, Salomon Bay welcomes visitors who are lodging in this town or an area nearby. Even if you are not staying in the vicinity, you are free to stop by to check it out.
