Culebra Nature Reserve

You should not have too much trouble finding the Culebra National Wildlife Refuge, as it makes up the majority of the island. The massive size does mean however, that the amenities and services are spread out, so don't expect everything to be in one place.

When most visit the wildlife reserve, they will be heading to the beautiful beaches. However, you can also take the time to hike a little and visit some of the ruins that can be found on the island, or visit the nesting sites of rare and endangered birds. Finally, one thing you can't do in smaller parks, is simply to drive around. The clean air and pretty scenery is perfect for exploring at you own pace.

You will have to take a ferry, private charter, or a plane to get to Culebra Island.

There are plenty of eateries to pick from in the community nearby the nature preserve. The most convenient restaurant to Culebra Nature Reserve is El Meson de Goyita, which has a menu full of Creole dishes. The dining establishment is a slight ways away, but far enough that you might want to make arrangements for having a means of transportation to get there. Café Delizioso and Cafe Isola are some of the additional restaurant options within reach of this outdoor attraction travelers will have the chance to try something different in Puerto Rico.

Visitors that enjoy wildlife reservations, and have the energy to view some others, should consider seeing Culebra National Wildlife Refuge's Luis Pena Cay and Culebra National Wildlife Refuge; the first and closest of which is two miles to the south of this nature preserve. There are some other activities nearby, including Flemenco Tank, which is a half mile away Isla de Culebra. Furthermore, you can think about heading over to Culebra Museum, which is another nearby attraction.
