Loacted on the islands northwestern most tip, you'll find stunning panoramic views, especially from above the beach. Visited mostly by locals, you'll find some neat little restaurants snack bars, and a couple huts for shade at this laid-back destination.
Positioned toward the center of Westpunt, Playa Forti is on the North West coast of Curacao. You might think about stopping by even if you aren't staying in the vicinity. Visitors will find that, while Playa Forti is certainly not secluded, you also wouldn't call it particularly popular. It's the perfect choice for travelers who want to make the most of their trip to the beach without having to fight other beachgoers for a spot in the sand.
If you're coming from the eastern or middle portions of the island, take Westpunt west. In the small town of Barber, you can either take a left on Kaminda Popo Royer or continue straight on Westpunt. Both routes will get you there in about the same time - going left will take you along the coast, while keeping straight will take you through the national park. Either way, at the western tip you'll find a number of restaurants and parking areas, one of which is for Playa Forti.
Snorkeling is popular here, particularly if you go a bit off to the left where there is a steep cliff. Others find the cliff an exciting place to jump off from into the cool blue waters. Under the water you'll find an interesting variety of exotic fish, coral and sponges.
Also, you have the option of trying the restaurant located right on Playa Forti. Each destination around the Caribbean has its own cuisine, and Curaçao is no different. One of the most enjoyable places to try local specialties is right on the water. Did you know that many hotels are able to pack picnic lunches for their guests? Otherwise, there are plenty of walk-up vendors that offer hot, on-the-go food.

Playa Forti is beautiful natural site, which you'll find on the North West coast of Curacao; it will be near other attractions like Landhuis Kenepa Plantation, which is only a short distance away, so some will want to take a cab, while others will find it a nice walk.
To some, beaches and museums may see like an unlikely combination, but some visitors find that museums like Tula Museum (located a mile and a half away) offer a fun learning experience and a whole new perspective of Curaçao.

Though this coastal destination is not exactly the area's culinary epicenter, you can still find some interesting eateries, particularly if you are prepared to venture a little farther away. One of the nearest places to eat is Landhuis Daniel, which is a delicious choice during or after a day at the beach.

If the active mood at Playa Forti is one of the features you love, consider checking out Playa Kenepa, a beach with a similar ambiance. You'll find it one and a quarter miles to the south. If you're looking for something a little more private, you might enjoy Playa Piskado. It is located only a short distance away.
Another sun-drenched spot to consider is Playa Santa Cruz, located reasonably close-by, meaning a quick cab ride should put you in the right spot to check out this other choice.
