Playa Forti

Loacted on the islands northwestern most tip, you'll find stunning panoramic views, especially from above the beach. Visited mostly by locals, you'll find some neat little restaurants snack bars, and a couple huts for shade at this laid-back destination.

Located near the middle of Westpunt, Playa Forti is on the North West coast of Curacao. You should think about stopping by even if you aren't staying in the immediate vicinity. Travelers will find that, although Playa Forti is by no means secluded, it's not the busiest of Curaçao's beaches either. It's the perfect choice for those of you who want to enjoy a beach with mild activity but also want to skip out on the crowds.

How to Access The Beach
If you're coming from the eastern or middle portions of the island, take Westpunt west. In the small town of Barber, you can either take a left on Kaminda Popo Royer or continue straight on Westpunt. Both routes will get you there in about the same time - going left will take you along the coast, while keeping straight will take you through the national park. Either way, at the western tip you'll find a number of restaurants and parking areas, one of which is for Playa Forti.

Amenities and Ambiance

Snorkeling is popular here, particularly if you go a bit off to the left where there is a steep cliff. Others find the cliff an exciting place to jump off from into the cool blue waters. Under the water you'll find an interesting variety of exotic fish, coral and sponges.

Also, you have the option of trying the restaurant located right on Playa Forti. Curaçao offers plenty of great places to eat, but don't think that table-side service and a lengthy menu are necessary to enjoy a tasty meal. Some visitors, in fact, would rather eat lunch by the shoreline than in a different restaurant. Did you know that many hotels are able to pack picnic lunches for their guests? Otherwise, there are plenty of walk-up vendors that offer hot, on-the-go food.

The snack bar here is the ultimate convenience if you need a cold drink, or something to hold you over until dinner.

Unfortunately, you won't find any public restrooms along this coastline, so those of you traveling with small children may want to consider another spot.
