At this art gallery, they sell and help people design their own Chichi. Chichi is a sensual, well rounded Caribbean figure. Chichi is the Papaimentu word for "big sister." The eldest daughter binds the family together in a loving way and the Chichi represents this.
In addition to making Chichis, the gallery also produced larger than life sculptures and delicate souvenirs.
If you want to do more than just watch a Chichi be created and buy it, then you are welcome to take a workshop. At workshops you sit in the tropical garden, next to a local team of craftsman, painters and maybe even Serena herself. You can paint small, medium or large souvenirs as an individual or as part of a team, whichever you choose.
Located in the vicinity of Willemstad, near Santa Catarina, Serena's Art Factory happily welcomes residents and visitors who are exploring and browsing shops in this part of Curacao. Regardless of whether you are staying nearby, you should consider stopping by. It's east of Willemstad.
Other than Serena's Art Factory, the shopping opportunities in the vicinity are scarce.
If you find yourself fending off some hunger once you finish having fun shopping, there will be at least two restaurant options nearby. Two options include L'Aldea Restaurant.and
They are open Monday through Saturday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
