Drums of Our Father's Monument

Sculpted by Steve Okeke, Drums of Our Fathers is a monument that represents Garifuna history, culture, and spirituality. It is located in Dangriga, the center of Garifuna culture in Belize, and an awe-inspiring site that welcomes visitors as they enter the town.

Set on a pedistal, the sculpture consists of three large drums. The two on either side rest on their sites, representing past life and future life, while the drum in the middle which rests on the two, symbolically lifted up on the past and future, represents the present day.
