Natural Attractions in Dennery

Most of Dennery is set in the Mabouya Valley, which means green fertile lands to explore via hiking trails and just simply heading off the beaten path with a guide who knows the area well enough to get you home.  There is also a nature reserve that covers an entire small island just south of town, making it an easy and well-recommended place to visit for eco-adventurers. 

Nature Preserves and Hiking

Do you want to enjoy part of your vacation outside? You can explore a few different hiking trails and some nature preserves nearby.

Barre de l'Isle Forest Reserve is a popular nature preserve situated 4.6 mi. West of central Dennery. This popular climb and hike is a major eco-tourist attraction on St. Lucia, and any fan of hiking up mountains and fantastic views will want to give the Barre de l'Isle Forest Reserve a try.

Waterfalls

Toraille Waterfalls

Although most vacationers have heard about the beautiful water and coastline, those aren't the only way to enjoy the natural wonders available. Areas near Dennery some interesting choices, including 6 waterfalls.

You might enjoy a visit to Sault Falls, which is located 1.2 mi. West of central Dennery. Known also by Dennery and Errand Falls, Sault Faulls is one of the biggest waterfalls on the island. It is also one of the lesser-known falls, the perfect reprieve for visitors who prefer a quiet hike and dip in the cool pools that is fills.

An additional place worth considering is La Tille Waterfall. It is found 6.0 mi. South of central Dennery. The garden and waterfall are accessed along the coast heading towards Vieux Fort, just northeast of the town.

Parks and Botanical Gardens

Guests can spend some time in a park, or 2 botanical gardens nearby.

If you enjoy tropical vegetation, you might want to visit Mamiku Gardens, which is situated 3.1 mi. South of central Dennery. A collection of tropical plants and ruins of a house built in the 1700's, the Mamiku Gardens are quite an adventure despite its well maintained state.

Another attraction in this category is King George V Gardens. Named after a British King of the early 1900's, the gardens are a popular place for a walk in the middle of the day. Located nearby many other attractions, it is a place easily visited without going out of your way.
