Natural Attractions in Dennery

Most of Dennery is set in the Mabouya Valley, which means green fertile lands to explore via hiking trails and just simply heading off the beaten path with a guide who knows the area well enough to get you home.  There is also a nature reserve that covers an entire small island just south of town, making it an easy and well-recommended place to visit for eco-adventurers. 

Nature Preserves and Hiking

Do you hope to enjoy more of your vacation seeing the local flaura and fauna? There are a few different hiking trails and some nature preserves nearby.

Barre de l'Isle Forest Reserve is a nature preserve located 4.6 mi. West of central Dennery. The reserve features a few trails that will take hikers through he forest and up the mountain. Those who stay alert should be able to see some wildlife along the way too.

Waterfalls

Toraille Waterfalls

Although most visitors to the area come for the beaches, those aren't the only way to enjoy the natural wonders available. Areas near Dennery some interesting options, including 6 waterfalls.

You might want to visit Sault Falls, which is located 1.2 mi. West of central Dennery. Known also by Dennery and Errand Falls, Sault Faulls is one of the biggest waterfalls on the island. It is also one of the lesser-known falls, the perfect reprieve for visitors who prefer a quiet hike and dip in the cool pools that is fills.

A second place worth considering is La Tille Waterfall. It is situated 6.0 mi. South of central Dennery. After strolling through the gardens, guests of the arden and waterfall are welcome to take a dip in one of several pools that are filled by the waterfall.

Parks and Botanical Gardens

Guests can experience a park, as well as 2 botanical gardens nearby.

If you'd like to see some beautiful tropical vegetation, consider visiting Mamiku Gardens, which is situated 3.1 mi. South of central Dennery. Visitors to the gardens will be able to explore the 22 acres that Mamiku Gardens encompass. Within this vast space, you will come across abandoned ruins and three different sections of the garden that features different types of plants and flowers.

Another popular choice in this category is King George V Gardens. Named after a British King of the early 1900's, the gardens are a popular place for a walk in the middle of the day. Located nearby many other attractions, it is a place easily visited without going out of your way.
