The beaches of Deshaies are as picturesque as any other on the island, with their white sands occasionally dotted with debris that have washed ashore, and views that stretch for miles. Although the waters can be rough on occasion, for the most part families find them a safe place to swim and relax in the sand.
You will find several beaches to consider in and around the area. Snorkeling is an option at some of these beaches, if some members of your party enjoy the underwater scene. Click on individual beach names for more detail concerning that particular stretch of sand.
Anse Riffiet: Encased by walls of trees on three sides, and wavy water on the fourth, Anse Riffiet gives the feeling of seclusion even though you are just feet from neighborhoods and communities.
A second option for beach-goers to consider is Anse du Petit Bas Vent. The little brother of Anse du Grand Bas Vent, Petit Bas Vent is actually the more popular one. This is likely to be due to the fact that this beach has a resort just steps from the sand.
Anse du Vieux Fort: The north coastal highway of N-2 has an left turn you can take right before entering Plessis Nogent that will take you to Anse de Vieux Fort.
