One of the best ways to learn about local culture is to try one of Dominica's restaurants.
There is one restaurant at Beau Rive, Beau Rive Restaurant, offering the option to dine well without leaving the property.
Dinner is candle-lit and served on the terrace overlooking the ocean. The atmosphere is old-fashioned with background music being a mixture of mellow jazz, Latin, old-school soul and African. All of the meals at Beau Rive are home-cooked, and abundantly features vegetarian dishes. Chicken and fish as served on occasion. Each day begins with a buffet-style continental breakfast that includes bread with preserves, yogurt, and fresh fruit as well as coffee, tea, and juice. Guests are on their own for lunch, but may reconvene at the on-site restaurant for dinner, which is a three-course meal served at 7 p.m.
If you want to explore local cuisine outside your accommodations, you may have to catch a taxi ride to have a wider selection of dining choices.
