Blue Moon Restaurant

Dinner at this East Indian restaurant is an experience unlike any other on the island. You need eight guests to make a reservation (and reservations are required), and there they specialize in serving authentic fare to large parties.

Food

Everything is homemade here, with curries, chutneys, salads, spiced rice, and more on the menu.

Blue Moon Restaurant is a buffet where they proudly serve their take on Indian cuisine. The setting here, as far as the style and level of formality, is very casual. The option to eat here is on the table during dinner only, so don't miss out.

Ambiance

The traditional Indian form of dining takes place here, where guests are seating under a thatched roof kiosk on cushions on the floor, and banana leaves, rather than utensils, are used for eating. This spot is ethnic, mysterious, and unique.

Location

This restaurant is part of Blue Moon Mountain Retreat, which is located north of Jamao Al Norte, a hamlet in the Western side of the Dominican Republic; it is to the south-southwest of Cabarete.

Considering the selection of attractions isn't as broad, some travelers might need to grab a taxi for a more diverse range of attractions.

Nearby Restaurants

For those seeking out another restaurant with similar types of food or a comparable price range, there are at least a few nearby places to choose from, including El Acantilado.

On the other hand, if you're in the mood for something a little different, this region of the Dominican Republic provides a long list of dining establishments, where you will encounter all types of flavors and cuisine styles. For example, you might also enjoy Mediterranean fare at Bliss, which is within taxi range north-northeast.

It is $20 to $30(USD) per person to dine here.
