El Breton

Playa El Breton is set within Parque National Cabo Francis along the northeast coast of the Dominican Republic. The beach here enjoys calm waters that are great for swimming and snorkeling, and beach combing is another popular pastime along this shore. If you need a quiet place to collect your thoughts while breathing in the fresh sea air, this is the place.

Situated in the Eastern side of the Dominican Republic, 2.6 miles northwest of Cabrera, El Breton is on the North edge of Hispaniola. You should think about stopping by even if you aren't staying very close. El Breton stands out because it's one of the best spots for escaping over-crowded hangouts in the town proper. Most other beaches you'll come across in the Dominican Republic may have the same warm sand and calming breezes as El Breton, but are usually more crowded because they're right around the corner from the area's major hotels and resorts.

How to Access The Beach
El Breton is located off Highway 5 just outside of Cabrera.

Amenities and Ambiance

El Breton is a half-moon shaped bay dug out into the northeast side of the island. The sand is dark tan and lined with trees. Either edge of the beach is a bit rocky, but the middle is soft enough to lay down on a towel and watch the aqua waters wash ashore.

Keep in mind that restrooms won't be found on-site, so those of you traveling with small children may want to consider another spot.

El Breton provides an angelic and peaceful place to escape, thanks to the fact that the region surrounding the beach won't be overly crowded.
