Fronton Beach

Set in Las Galeras, Playa Fronton is one of the area's most beautiful beaches, even if it is difficult to reach. It is because of this, however, that the beach remains natural and clean; a secluded little stretch of paradise where you can enjoy a day on the beach without the distraction of other beach goers playing in the sand.

Located in the Samana Peninsula, east of Las Galeras, Fronton Beach is on the North East edge of Hispaniola. You might want to drop by whether or not you're staying in the immediate vicinity. Even if you love being in the middle of all the action, there are some perks to visiting a beach that hasn't been "discovered" by thousands of tourists; less popular beaches like Fronton Beach allow you much more room to spread out and feel comfortable.

How to Access The Beach
The easiest way to reach Playa Fronton is by boat from Las Galeras. It is also possible to hike through the jungle, but the trip takes approximately two hours. .

Amenities and Ambiance

Shaded by the forest and a large mountain, Fronton Beach is darker and cooler than most beaches in the Dominican Republic. The waters that wash ashore are a sparkling navy blue, and the sand is white, fine, and soft. It is suggested that you hit the beach early, because after 3 p.m. the sun hides behind the mountain making it even darker and cooler than the morning hours.

Keep in mind that restrooms won't be found on-site, though you may be able to use the facilities at a nearby business.

If you find that you desire beach days that offer visitors a quiet environment, then think about trying out Fronton Beach; it's back in a more natural sector of the region.
