Grande Beach

Set on the Dominican Republic's north coast is Grande Beach, a unique beach in that it is popular for both swimming and surfing. The summer months is when the waters are calm enough that swimmers can enjoy the water without being pummeled by waves, while the winter months are perfect for surfers who want to catch waves of u to 12 feet.

Positioned in the Eastern side of the Dominican Republic, 7.0 miles west-northwest of Cabrera, Grande Beach is on the North coast of Hispaniola. You might want to drop by whether or not you're staying nearby. Travelers in search of a tranquil, secluded setting should venture a little farther from the city, and a little closer to Grande Beach.

Amenities and Ambiance

The sands of Grande Beach are a soft pink color, and the beach is lined with trees in a way that keeps the beach pretty shady.

Unfortunately, restrooms will not be available here, so if you're visiting with small children you might want to consider a different location.

If you enjoy beaches that bring visitors an idyllic environment, then you may want to try Grande Beach; it's located in a more rural section of the region.

Of course, you'll find plenty of other beaches on Hispaniola, and Grande Beach is just one option.

Travelers who like this beach might also enjoy Cabarete Beach, located 26 and a half miles to the west. More active guests, though, may be interested in Preciosa Beach, which could provide more action, and isn't far from nearby attractions. It's located a few hundred yards to the east.

Vacationers may also want to visit El Breton, which is located four and a half miles to the east.
