Iglesia Santa Lucia

Built in honor the the patron saint of the military, Santa Barbara, this church saw completion in 1574. However, after being destroyed by Drake, it would be rebuilt featuring stronger walls to better protect it from future military and environmental damage.

Iglesia Santa Lucia is located in Las Matas de Farfan, meaning those visiting this area of the Dominican Republic will be pleased to have easy site access during their visit. There isn't much congestion in the area near the historic site, particularly since there are very few places to stay in the vicinity.
