Los Icacos

While not far from several towns, Los Icacos seems worlds apart from the urban Dominican Republic. Located on the far end of Monte Cristi National Park, travelers hoping to come here will need to traverse through acres of protected land and natural tropics.

Located in the Western side of the Dominican Republic, west-southwest of Monte Cristi, Los Icacos is on the North coast of the Dominican Republic. You might want to drop by regardless of whether you're staying nearby. This beach is not just a pleasant attraction, it is one of the more unique and quiet beaches in the Dominican Republic. While Los Icacos may be a little bit out of the way, it provides a rare chance to escape crowds of tourists.

How to Access The Beach
While it is possible to drive to the beach, the dirt roads are not well maintained, even on Dominican Republic standards , so an off-road capable vehicle is a must.

Amenities and Ambiance

With the natural beach, dense forests and wetlands behind it, absolute seclusion, and lack of any development, it is easy to see why eco-tourist find this beach appealing. However, unless you are looking for the absolute natural beach, then the lack of any amenities nearby means this beach may not be the best.

Unfortunately, you won't find any public restrooms along this coastline, so if you're visiting with small children you might want to consider a different location.

Los Icacos brings guests an idyllic and serene enclave, thanks to the fact that the region surrounding the beach is more rural than urban.
