Playa Almendros

Full of trees and bordered by rough waters; Playa Almendros is not your average beach. Those coming here generally only use it as a starting point for kayak expeditions.

Situated in the Eastern side of the Dominican Republic, 0.8 miles south of Boca Canasta, Playa Almendros is on the South coast of Hispaniola. You should consider stopping by regardless of whether you are staying nearby.

How to Access The Beach
If you decide to head over to Playa Almendro, you will need to simply take Avenida Fabio Herrera south out of Bani as far as it goes.

Amenities and Ambiance

Don't come to Playa Almendro expecting white sandy beaches, clear waters, or even sunny skies. This beach is rocky, full of dirt, and not the kind of beach for sun tanning. However, if you enjoy swimming in wavy oceans, or are exploring the coast via kayak, then this might be a spot for you.

Keep in mind that restrooms won't be found on-site.

If you usually choose shores which bring guests an idyllic experience, then think about trying out Playa Almendros; it's hidden away within a more rural part of Hispaniola.
