The long shore at Playa Ariba is perfect for anyone looking for a nice place to walk, and the clam cool water make it great for a swim. Despite the size, do not expect much privacy, as the beach is very open.
Located in the Eastern side of the Dominican Republic, 1.0 mile east of Miches, Playa Arriba is on the East edge of Hispaniola. You should think about stopping by even if you are not staying in the immediate vicinity.
When heading East out of El Centro, you cross over a bridge. As soon as the bridge ends, there is a road called "Calle Pedro A. Morel de Santa Cruz", it is the first possible turn you can take. If you turn left onto it (North) it will dead end at Playa Arriba, where you can park right on the sand.
Playa Ariba is flat, smooth, and clean, with a line of trees helping block it from the road. While you will not find much on the beach itself, there is a few building where you should be able to grab a bite to eat.
Unfortunately, restrooms will not be available here, which is something to consider if you're bringing the kids, or plan to spend all day outside.
