Playa Cambronal

The closest section of the Dominican Republic to Playa Cambronal is Luperon. This interesting part of the Dominican Republic is only seven miles from the coast, which means a visit doesn't need to take up the whole day. It's important to note that Luperon is a fairly rural area, but it can be an interesting destination for those wanting to get a taste of local life.


Whether this spot is full of bodies or practically empty will depend on how many hotel guests decide to make the trip as well.

Don't expect to find any of the Dominican Republic's large hotels and resorts lining this beach, though if you're looking to dodge masses of travelers, the lack of accommodations will surely be welcomed.


There aren't any restaurants right on this coastal destination, so it would be a good idea to plan a picnic if you want to fully enjoy your day in the sun.

Of course, there are lots of other spots along the coast of the Dominican Republic, so Playa Cambronal is just one of your options.

You might also enjoy Cofresi Beach, situated a little ways off, but can be reached in the car. Others might prefer Playa de Nena, which could provide more action, and is closer to other tourist hot-spots. It's located 11 and a half miles to the east.

Another location you may want to try is Luperon Beach, which is located not too far away, and can be reached in a cab. Luperon Beach is superb for all sorts of water sports, so active travelers will enjoy this destination. Fortunately, the beach is fairly large and there's plenty of room to spread out on the white sand. Scuba diving is available in the deeper waters off of Luperon Beach.

Playa Cambronal could be the ideal stretch of sand, but it is possible that it may not be the best choice for your family; if so, the Dominican Republic offers a variety of beaches for travelers who wish to try elsewhere.
