Playa Madama

Located at the very tip of La Samana, Playa Madama is a calm cove protected from the large waves of the Atlantic. Visitors will find it perfect for swimming, playing, relaxing, or really anything, as the calm and crystal clear water and soft sand are inviting all around.

Located in the Samana Peninsula, 3.3 miles northeast of Arroyo Del Cabo, Playa Madama is on the East-Northeast edge of Hispaniola. You might think about stopping by whether or not you're staying in the vicinity.

How to Access The Beach

When on Samana, simply head East. At the end you will find a dirt road that take you right to the beach.

Amenities and Ambiance

Despite all the beauty that Playa Madama has to offer, it its a bit small and an easily become crowded. Luckily, its distance makes it less visited than other beaches.

Unfortunately, restrooms will not be available here, so if you're visiting with small children you might want to consider a different location. Happily, the off-shore waters are clear enough for snorkeling, so bring along some gear if you're hoping to see what lies beneath the surface.

If you happen to favor beach days which provide an idyllic haven, then you may want to try Playa Madama; it's hidden away in a much quieter section of Hispaniola.

This pleasant stretch of sand known as Playa Madama is on the Dominican Republic's East-Northeast coast; it will be near other attractions like Iguanario Los Tocones, which is one of the most conveniently accessible attractions.

If you're interested in mixing some cultural exploration with your trip to the beach, you should consider a trip to Shipwreck Maritime Museum, a lovely museum found 13 miles away, giving beachgoers the chance to escape that hot midday sunshine.
