Located in the vicinity of Santo Domingo, 0.5 miles southeast of La Playa, Playa Najayo is on the East coast of the Dominican Republic. You should consider stopping by whether or not you are staying nearby. While the Dominican Republic has more secluded beaches than Playa Najayo, it has the right combination of charm and personality to attract visitors who need a place to relax.

Amenities and Ambiance

Playa Najayo is a simple beach, with not much more than sand and trees making up the coast. However, the privacy is extraordinary and definitely an option for those looking for a peaceful beach.

Please note that public restrooms are not available, which is something to consider if you're bringing the kids, or plan to spend all day outside.

Playa Najayo provides an angelic and relaxing getaway, thanks to the fact that the surrounding region is not heavily urbanized.

The beach is wonderful, but the surrounding area has a lot to offer, too. Look for it on the Dominican Republic's East coast. Palacio de Cerro is one of the attractions in the vicinity.

If you want to mix a little culture with your trip to the beach, you should consider a trip to Museo Bellapart. This museum is located 17 and a half miles to the northeast, giving beachgoers the chance to escape that hot midday sunshine.

The nearest part in the Dominican Republic to Playa Najayo is La Playa. This friendly part of the Dominican Republic is only a half mile away, which means it doesn't have to be a terribly lengthy excursion. It should be noted that San Cristobal is not very urbanized, so for those who want to see more of the area, this region of the Dominican Republic should provide an interesting experience.


Whether or not you encounter a lot of other visitors will depend on if you visit during a popular season, which is often indicated by how busy the hotels are. This beach is not near many large hotels, but you may encounter visitors staying at some of the area's smaller options.


You might not find any places to eat right on this beach, so you may choose to plan a picnic for your time spent at the beach.

If the exciting vibe at Playa Najayo has you wanting more of the same, consider also visiting Playa los Ninos, another destination with a good amount of excitement. You'll find it two miles to the south west. If it's solitude and tranquility you're seeking, Playa Nizao is an area which doesn't see as many crowds. You'll find it eight and a half miles away.

Another location you may want to try is Playa los Cuadritos, which is located fairly close-by, so a short cab ride can take you where you want to go.
