Playa Palenque

Jutting out to form a spearhead in the water, Playa Palenque is used mainly as a beach for boats and kayaks. While there is plenty of space for laying down and swimming, the nearby tropical beaches tend to attract more of a crowd.

Located in the Eastern side of the Dominican Republic, 2.3 miles south west of Sabana Grande De Palenque, Playa Palenque is on the South coast of Hispaniola. You should consider dropping by regardless of whether you're staying particularly close by.

How to Access The Beach
Heading southwest along the Santo Domingo coast will eventually have you leaving the city and heading south. Doing so will bring you to Playa Palenque.

Amenities and Ambiance

Playa Palenque is littered with palm trees and resting kayaks, and the rougher, darker waters does not exactly satisfy the criteria of a tropical beach. However, the beach does draw less crowds and is an option for those looking to be further away from the tourist areas.

Unfortunately, public restrooms aren't available, but you may be able to find facilities at a nearby business. Fortunately, umbrellas and chairs will be offered here for guests seeking a shaded area to relax.

Off the beaten path, Playa Palenque as well as its choice of comforts are likely to be a good choice for guests wishing to get away from the crowded beaches, as it happens to be situated in a calm region. With this in mind, you will generally find all facilities open to use, not having been scooped up by others.
