Airport Beach

As the name suggests, the beach runs parallel to the runway of a small airstrip, Governor's Harbor Airport. However, the planes are pretty infrequent and never very bothersome.

Located in the heart of the island of Eleuthera, Airport Beach is on the North West coast of the island, You should consider stopping by even if you are not staying in the vicinity. This isn't just another pretty beach, it also has a private beach feel——a unique quailty in a touristy place like the Bahamas. While Airport Beach may be a bit off the beaten path, it allows travelers to truly relax and claim their own space on the beach.

How to Access The Beach
Taking Knowles Drive to the west for a half mile will take you right to the beach. This is the main access and puts you at the southern tip of the beach. Once on the beach, walking to the left will allow you to continue for miles.

Amenities and Ambiance

The sand on this never-ending beach is a pinkish white color and very fine. That coupled with its phenomenal length of three miles make this beach the perfect place for a romantic stroll, no matter the time day. The mangroves lining Airport Beach's quiet coast are another interesting feature.

Keep in mind that restrooms won't be found on-site, which is something to consider if you plan to spend a full day in the sun.

Airport Beach offers a calm and relaxing enclave, in part because the surrounding area is away from most urbanization.
