James Point Beach

In the middle of Eleuthera is James Point Beach, stretching from the bay just north of Governor's Harbor Airport all the way up to and along Moray Pond. There is an old shipwreck which is definitely worth a look, and visible from the shore.

Located near the heart of the island of Eleuthera, James Point Beach is on the North West coast of the island, You should consider dropping by even if you are not staying in the immediate vicinity. James Point Beach is a distinguishable relaxation spot because it's one of the best spots for escaping over-crowded hangouts in the town proper. Other nearby beaches you'll come across in the Bahamas may have the same warm sand and calming breezes as James Point Beach, but are usually more crowded because they're right around the corner from the area's major hotels and resorts.

How to Access The Beach

This beach is accessible from a number of paths that extend from Queen's Highway - from the section of the highway just north of the airport.

Amenities and Ambiance

The beach is very long and the firm, compact sand you'll find closer to the shoreline make this a beach walker's dream. The extremely interesting rock formations are another really nice feature.

Unfortunately, restrooms will not be available here, but you may be able to find facilities at a nearby business.

If you go for shores which offer those who visit an angelic experience, then you may want to try James Point Beach; it's tucked away within a less urbanized sector of the region.
