Since the Cotton Bay Club hotel has closed, there aren't many facilities nearby, but the beach remains a wonderful spot for picnic, and the water is great for swimming and snorkeling, particularly at the ends of the bay which are rockier.

Ten Bay Beach stands out because it's the ideal location for escaping over-crowded hangouts in the town proper. Other nearby beaches in the Bahamas may be just as beautiful, but tend to be more crowded since they're located by some of the most popular tourist areas in town.
Two and a half miles north of Savannah Sound you will find a "Beach Access" sign. Take the dirt road for less than half a mile to find beach parking.
Between Palmetto Point and Savannah Sound, you'll find Ten Bay Beach. Its beautiful scenery and pleasant waters make it a quintessentially Caribbean beauty. In the mornings, enjoy the shade from the giant casuarina trees.
The snack bar here is the ultimate convenience if you need a cold drink, or something to hold you over until dinner. Sometimes, visitors will be able to purchase food from one of the mobile vendors who typically set up shop here.
Keep in mind that restrooms won't be found on-site, which is something to consider if you plan to spend a full day in the sun. This area is known for being completely deserted, so be sure bring some friends

The closest town is , which is a region with interesting things to do, yet is never overly congested. From the shore, Governors Harbour is a car ride off, about nine miles (14 and a half kilometers) away.
The popularity of this spot on any given day can vary, it depends on several things: the season, the weather, even how many of the nearby hotel rooms have been booked. Ten Bay Beach is not located near many major hotels, but you may meet visitors staying at some of the smaller accommodations in the area.
