Whiteland Beach is very close to Rock Sound, so touring the city could be a fun side-trip after visiting the beach. Rock Sound is the closest city and is a neat region that strikes a balance between island tranquility and urbanization. From the shore, Rock Sound is just up the road, about two and a half miles (four kilometers).
The popularity of this spot on any given day can vary, depending on everything from the time of day to how many hotel rooms have been booked nearby. There are not many major hotels nearby, but you may encounter guests staying at smaller accommodations in the area.
