This impressive fort at one time stood as the harbor's main protection from enemy navies. Built in 1704, the fort would eventually be armed with at leas twenty-five cannons that could reach about a mile and a half each, a clear deterrent to any approaching ships. Today the fort is one of the most popular places for tourists to take photographs.
