Galleon Beach

Galleon Beach is on Deep Bay, which is home to several marinas, so it's usually heavily populated by boats. It also has a good number of close by accommodations, several which surround the beach itself. There's a few docks, the sand is white and the water is see through blue-green.

Located in the eastern part of English Harbour, in the vicinity of Falmouth Harbour, Galleon Beach is on the South edge of Antigua. You might want even if you aren't staying particularly close by. Many of the other beaches in Antigua are known for being hidden gems with potential for deep relaxation. Though some travelers can't wait to enjoy these secret spots, those who like to keep active will find there's much more variety at Galleon Beach.

Amenities and Ambiance

This beach is inland on the coast of Deep Bay. The water has a lot of boat traffic and the beach has some boat docks as well. The water is clear, the sand is soft white sand and the beach has a lot of nearby accommodations and a resort.

The concession stand at this spot is also an option.

Unfortunately, you won't find any public restrooms along this coastline, which is something to consider if you plan to spend a full day in the sun. Fortunately, umbrellas can be used by guests seeking a place to relax in the shade. You'll find the waters off-shore to be fit for snorkeling, so purchase or rent some gear if you are looking to do some underwater exploration.

Keep in mind that the region in which Galleon Beach is located is visited by quite a number of tourists, meaning you may find quite a few people vying for the use of the same facilities.

Travelers will find Galleon Beach on the South coast of Antigua. It is close to Fort Berkeley, which is not very far away, so visitors have the option to walk or to take a cab, and it is one of the attractions in the vicinity.

How many other people you encounter at Galleon Beach will vary depending on the time of day, particularly in the high season when hotels overflow with tourists. This beach is not near many large hotels, but you may encounter visitors from some of the smaller accommodations in the area.


If someone in your group starts to get a little hungry at the beach, it's alright because you'll have plenty of places to dine, without having to go too far. Terrace is one of the closest eateries. This restaurant offers both Caribbean and French cuisines. Some guests will choose to take a cab here, while others will want to walk since it's just a short distance away.

If the vibrant atmosphere of Galleon Beach has you wanting more of the same, you'll want to consider checking out Windward Beach, a beach with a similar ambiance. It is located a mile to the west. However, if you're looking to enjoy a quieter scene, Carlisle Bay East is a location secluded from lots of tourists and buildings.

Travelers may also want to consider Pigeon's Beach, which is located one and an eighth miles to the west.
