You will find a large selection of beaches to visit in and around the area. Snorkeling is available at some locations, for people who are so inclined. You can click on the name of each beach for a detailed article concerning that beach.
A local beach that offers snorkeling is Playa Sardinera. The harbor at Playa Sardinera keeps the sea and the shore littered with fishing and sailing boats of all sorts. Under the docked boats is dark, desert colored sand, and cloudy green waters.
A second place that beach-goers can consider is Las Croabas Beach. The beaches of Las Croabas are narrower than other beaches in Puerto Rico, and comprised mainly of fragments of igneous rock that washes ashore from the outlying reef.
Playa Laguna Aguas Prietas: After miles of forestry, Playa Laguna Aguas Prietas appears as a clearing along the north coast of Puerto Rico. This locale is perfect for visitors who want to enjoy quiet and seclusion.
