Attractions in Fajardo

Home to the largest marina in the Caribbean and an important ferry launch, Fajardo is a place where people are always coming and going, and they usually do it by sea.  Those who decide to stay awhile will quickly discover that the town consists of one of the most important nature reserves on the entire island of Puerto Rico, several beaches that are great snorkeling spots, and even a casino.


Seven Seas Beach

You'll find a large selection of beaches to consider visiting in and around the area. Snorkeling is available at several locations, if some members of your party enjoy this relaxing pastime. Click on each beach name for a detailed guide to that specific beach.

A beach scene that's good for snorkeling is Playa Sardinera. Playa Sardinera is set just off Carretera Cabezas de San Juan. Follor Carr 697 north until you reach the beach, and turn left to access the parking lot.

A second location for beach-goers to consider is Las Croabas Beach. Las Croabas Beaches are located along Puerto Rico's east coast.

Playa Laguna Aguas Prietas: Backed by thick forest, Playa Laguna Aguas Prietas is a short stretch of tan sand leading up to turquoise waters. Patches of coral exist just off the shore, great for snorkelers who'd like to explore local marine life.

If the more functional aspects of living by the sea intrigue you, you should consider visiting Fero de las Cabezas de San Juan Lighthouse. You can visit the lighthouse on weekends, and tours are available at 9:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m., and 1:30 p.m.

Juan Diego Falls

Bosque Estatal De Ceiba is one of the most enjoyable local attractions. Very close to the city of Fajardo and Ceiba, the Bosque Estatal de Ceiba is a popular destination for anyone looking to take part it outdoor activities while on the island. Visitors will find plenty of people enjoying the forest with a hike, looking out for birds, or heading to the mangroves and fishing.

Cayos De La Cordillera Nature Reserve is a second option that allows you to enjoy the natural surroundings. The natural reserve does not itself offer any activities, however many people find it a great place just to explore. Many of the tour groups in the area will have options that take you here, so if you are interested, just ask them.
