One of nature's true phenomenons, Trelawney's Luminous Lake lights up an electric blue at night due to microscopic organisms that glow in the dark. Visitors from around the world come to dine at the on-site restaurant, take a boat tour, or even dive right into the water.
Tour guides wait by the shore each evening at dusk, awaiting the opportunity to take visitors out onto the iridescent waters. This is one of the few bioluminescent lakes in the world, so you may not want to miss the opportunity to dive in. A word of caution, the bottom of the lake can be muddy, so swim shoes are advised.
Trelawney Luminous Lagoon is located 1.1 miles west of White Bay, a village in Trelawny Parish; it is 2.0 miles to the east of Falmouth.
